Unlike earlier situations the verses in holy Qur’an that cites water cycles are totally self-evident now-a-days.
The chapter az-Zumar convey’s fruitful information about water bodies as,
“Have you not seen that Allah sent rain down from the sky and caused it to penetrate the ground and come forth as springs, then He caused crops of different colors to grow…” Qur’an,39:21
These words are very straight forward to us today, whereas in olden days several myths existed on how water bodies are generated.
In the middle of sixteenth century, Bernard Palissy’s research gave logical reasoning on origin on water bodies. Adding to these many concepts evolved time to time stating different reasons on water cycle.
During nineteenth century Aristotle’s theory derived that water is being condensed in cool mountains, later which formed as under lakes. But today everyone accepts Quran and science quote that it is nothing but rain water infiltration which is cause for ground water existence.
