Importance of Cleanliness in Islam and why it is emphasised by Muslims

Islam has given such a great amount of significance to cleanliness as it is viewed as a piece of confidence. cleanliness and purification are one of the extraordinary exclusions of Islam. Islam places extraordinary weight on cleanliness, regardless of whether it’s in physical or otherworldly terms. The consideration regarding cleanliness is the condition which was new to some other religion before Islam. While individuals by and large think about Cleanliness and Hygiene in Islam or decontamination an alluring angle, yet Islam demands it, making importance of cleanliness in islam a fundamental piece of faith. cleanliness is a fundamental piece of Islamic life.

We can say the significance and soul behind the idea of cleanliness is over the slight idea of the conventional Cleanliness. In Holy Quran Allah Almighty says: “Allah does not intend to inconvenience you, but He intends to purify you and perfect His favor to you, so that you may give thanks”. (Quran, 5:6)

Importance of cleanliness in islam and sanitization are of two sorts in which we have internal cleansing and external refinement.

Inner Cleansing: Inner decontamination can be accomplished by empowering the five pillars of Islam. Having clean and pure thinking reasoning, maintaining a strategic distance from sins, making a great deal of dhikrs and above all creation sure the heart is unadulterated of otherworldly distress, for example, outrage, scorn, depending on others than Allah, pride, egotism, and so forth.

External Refinement: External filtration can be gotten by legitimate substantial decontamination for example making bathing, washing up, cleaning teeth, utilizing scent, keeping house and garments clean and so on.

Importance of Cleanliness in Islam:

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam (Peace be upon him) “Cleanliness is half the faith (Emaan).” (Sahih Muslim) So we can presume that importance of cleanliness in islam and purity are a piece of our faith which we need to pay attention to in our lives. The Blessed Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam (Peace be upon him) rehearsed cleanliness himself and requested his companions to follow as well. He kept his body and clothes clean, took bath on regular basis, preferred the utilization of fragrance, liked to do Miswaak, He (Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam (Peace be upon him)) hated the utilization of foul things like garlic and so forth .and acknowledged neat and attractive appearance.

Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam (Peace be upon him) said: “The key to the prayer is cleanliness, its beginning is takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) and its ending is Salam (salutation).” (Abu Dawud) Islam has constantly urged the believer to be in a condition of Cleanliness both physically and spiritually. As referenced above, one of the most significant parts of prayers is that an individual should be clean before performing them five times a day.

Islam and cleanliness:

There are numerous directions in connection with health, Importance of Cleanliness in Islam and nourishment and about the cleanliness of air and condition in Islam. Some of them are recorded underneath:
• Wash your mouth and hands before and after a meal.
• Keep nourishment and water secured.
• Offer Salah with clean body and garments.
• Use fragrance or perfume.
• Comb your hair and use oil on the hair.
• Scrub down and perform bathing for offering prayers.
• Go to bed early and rise promptly toward the beginning of the day.
• Go for a walk in the morning.
• Keep your home and boulevards clean or we can say keep your condition clean.
• Keep your garments and body clean.
• Do Miswak consistently.

Cleanliness and Hygiene in Islam is the pathway to health and strength. Islam needs a healthy and strong Muslim society which is fit for understanding and applying Allah’s message and carrying it to the entire world. The Holy Quran says “You are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah.” (Quran, 3:110)

In Short, Cleanliness and Hygiene in Islam is a piece of faith or we can say it is a large portion of the faith. We regularly clean our homes, brush our teeth every day, take bath, wash our garments, wash dishes, use perfume. Do we understand that we are getting compensated by Allah (SWT) for it? No, on the grounds that by and large we never consider doing these represents a record of remuneration from Allah All-powerful, we don’t do them for the delight of Allah as we are complying with his orders. May Allah give us the strength to obey with His commands and get rewards and blessings from Him! Ameen
